Customer Review: Well, I purchased my first ever electric scooter (at 74) that has a seat and rear basket from Amazon and in the product manual it states to use safety gear. Well, I only travel 1/2 mile round trips to work so I ignored that warning; the result was I took a hard fall and bruised my ribs; banged my knee; scraped my elbow and yes, banged my head on the sidewalk. That was a hard lesson learned !!! So this was one of the safety items I purchased.The helmet is solid! It’s a one size fits all so I’m not sure what to say about that. I do know that out of the box it fits me perfectly; a little tight but I prefer it that way. I really like the added safety light in the back of the helmet. Lights really well for when I leave work at midnight. Not sure how to change the battery, when needed, but I’ll worry about that when the time comes.I guess my only gripe is that rain visor on the front of the helmet; it comes off easily but that is actually my fault because I store it in my old backpack that is secured to the rear basket which is probably a little bit too tight for my helmet. But, at work I have to store it or everyone will play with the helmet and light.This is definitely a 5-star product!!!Well constructed; great added safety feature with the rear helmet light; solid straps; comfortable!

Customer Review: This was just what I was looking for. It’s surprisingly hard to find a simple, low-profile bike helmet for casual and commuter cycling. The helmet is so lightweight, when it arrived it felt like that couldn’t possibly be what was in the box. After opening the package, it feels just as sturdy and high-quality as any other helmet I’ve had, and it looks great. The matte dark green is really pretty without being too much, and I like that it comes with two detachable visors. It’s also comfortable and I love the adjustment mechanism for sizing — having to switch foam pads in and out of a helmet to get a good fit is such a pain, so I like that getting a secure, comfortable fit is a simple as turning the dial.

Customer Review: This is my third Schwinn Thrasher helmet, and I’m definitely a fan. I was wearing my first one, the basic black model, when I unwisely decided to bike down a poorly-lit street and hit a fallen tree branch that I didn’t see until I was lying on the ground next to it. Afterwards, I discovered that my helmet was in two pieces, but my head was not. I’m pretty sure I landed on my forehead, but I didn’t even have a bruise on my head, let alone a concussion or skull fracture. (I did have assorted other injuries, but as the little instruction booklet that comes with the helmet explains, a bike helmet cannot protect any part of the body that it doesn’t cover. I’d like to thank Schwinn’s legal department for clearing that up.)I replaced my broken black helmet with the pink and purple version, which is cute, but it has the drawback of having white straps that quickly start looking grubby and are difficult to clean. I eventually replaced that one with this teal one, which is also cute. It’s difficult to see in the photo without zooming in, but it has a pattern of four-pointed stars which adds a nice touch. It also has the more practical black straps, so it’s probably my favorite of the three I’ve had.Aside from the colors, all the Thrashers have the same great features. They have lots of vents which make the helmet lightweight and surprisingly cool. You can easily customize the fit with the adjustable band that goes around the lower back of your head—just turn a dial to tighten or loosen the band. They’re well padded inside with individual pads that can easily be removed and hand-washed. (Just be sure to take a picture of the inside of the helmet before you remove the pads, or you’ll end up hopelessly confused when you try to put them back in.) And, of course, they have a couple of silly features, such as the rather useless visor and a big yellow sticker inside with an arrow labeled “FRONT” pointing to the front of the helmet, just in case you thought the rear adjustment band is supposed to protect the bridge of your nose or something. (The visor is removable; the sticker, not so much.)So, bottom line, if you value your brain and/or skull, wear a bike helmet (and avoid dark streets). And my brain and skull are here to testify that this particular helmet works.
