Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. Don’t often write reviews, but I just want to throw this out there cause I would’ve wanted to read it. Overall quality and assembly: I expected this to be lower-quality, I was wrong. This thing is heavy, solid steel, with really solid welds. The bolts holding this thing together are substantial to say the least and all the nuts are locking which is awesome. With that, I would STRONGLY ADVISE that you own a socket set and adjustable wrench at the very least. I used an impact on mine (especially for the main support bolt, but I’m sure that’s overkill. Everything else: Really don’t have anything bad to say, it folds out of the way perfectly and easily, and its sturdy as any other yakima rack I’ve owned. The biggest difference I think you’ll see when comparing a higher-cost product is the mechanism to strap the bikes down. These use velcro with a V-shaped rubber grip, I found it harder to get around the unique frames, but once I aligned it right they fit snugly. I was worried about the velcro, but it held my bikes at 80 mph with extremely minimal movement so I am happy. I have some heavy beach cruisers and as you’ll see in the video they really don’t waver much at all. It isn’t loud and clanging around either, didn’t hear a thing. I saw a couple people say that it made some noise, but i think using the impact reduced it all the way. Overall this is a great product for a crazy good price. highly recommend”

Customer Review: “I was a little skeptical about this item as its price was significantly lower that the competitors. I installed the Amazon bike rack on my 2025 Subaru Legacy (sedan). I had previously installed a Class 3 CURT 2″ hitch. The assembly was easy. What amazed me most was the stability of the rack once installed — absolutely no wobbles. I can install the rack on the car or uninstall it in under a minute. (I use a 24mm socket instead of the 24mm wrench that came with it). I bought a crossbar for my 29” mountain bike (Scott Spark 920) so the bike would be “level” on the rack”. Unloading and loading is a breeze. I add a bungee around the wheels and the rack to keep them from spinning when I travel. If I’m travelling a long distance, I also use small bungees on the pedals to keep them from spinning. There is no “flapping” from the rack tie downs — they are rigid plastic and work very well. If I know I’m going to be leaving the bike on the rack, I add a cable lock around the frame of the bike and secure it through the loop on the hitch. The rack arm folds down if I want to leave it on the car. It is a simple 30 second procedure. I don’t need to tip the rack down to open the trunk on my Legacy so I’ll probably never use the “tip-down” feature. In rugged terrain, I occasionally bottom out on my hitch — but that is because I’m driving a “sedan”. (Not a rack problem — it could be solved if I had an SUV). Overall, a solid rack and I’m impressed and pleased.”

Customer Review: “I have been impressed with this bike rack so far. I love the straps that hold the bike. That was one of the main reasons I bought this bike rack. The only one thing that I would like to see change is the length from the hitch can be a bit longer maybe 6 inches longer so that the bikes are more away from the car. Right now obviously there is enough gap but more space would help in extreme conditions especially during hard braking. I will still give it a five star, considering the price of the bike rack and the quality it offers.”

Customer Review: “It’s the cheapest bike rake I’ve seen anywhere and it holds two bikes. There is just a smidgen of play when connected to the tow hitch but it’s minimal and is perfectly fine. It’s not going anywhere. Easy installation (though the wrench they include is useless as it is larger than the included bolts and hex nuts. You need a 17mm wrench or socket to install. Preferably both. One to hold the bolt, the other to tighten the nut. I’m heading to the West Virginia mountains in a couple of weeks and look forward to strapping my bike onto this bad boy.”

Customer Review: “If possible, I’d give this 4.5 stars. Although this bike rack had 100% 5 star when I purchased it, there were few written reviews, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. At this point, it was a great purchase! PRO’s: Even the packaging deserves commendations: it came in a sealed, factory-direct Crindar box, all the pieces were protected with cardboard or bubble wrap, and the contents didn’t move about. The bike rack is very well-made and -designed. It’s heavier than most in this class as others reviewers said, although the weight is noted in the description… it’s alloy steel after all. It definitely has the claimed 160 lb. weight capacity. Once mounted on a vehicle, it is easy to use, fold and tilt. The keyed locks on the receiver hitch and the bike brackets work well (I wish there was one key, not two, for both). There are flat washers, locking washers, bushings, pins, bolts and nuts where they’re needed. Every single piece is exactly included – no extras and none missing. The bike brackets are nicely padded to protect bikes. The gray color is a metallic paint look. The assembly instructions come in an 8.5″x11″ booklet with sequenced, seven-step assembly process. Most of instructions are graphic but there is some English verbiage. The small hardware for every step is packaged in a plastic bag imprinted with the step #. All the tools need are included, except for a phillips head screwdriver. CON’S: (reasons for the .5 star off rating) Although instruction manual is clearly printed, each the image for each step includes the entire rack. As such, it is difficult to see the position & placement of the small hardware pieces. It took quite a while to figure out some – I often had to look ahead and make educated guesses. In another case, after the attachment of a piece in one step, a following step gave instructions about the correct placement of that piece in a side note: I had to remove that piece to reposition it and reattach it. NOTES: Assembly is best done with two people. I had to do it alone. I did not follow step 1 because it said to mount the rack’s hitch bar into the auto receiver and I needed to assemble it indoors at night. Considering this and the dilemmas noted above, total assembly took about 4.5 hours. Using a ratchet wrench will make assembly go a little easier and faster.”
