“Having recently built an ebike I quickly found that the tires that came with the donner bike were not the best option for my commuting. The bike came with 700c 38 which also had mini nobs for light off road duty. With rough roads and higher speeds the nobby tires felt a bit sketchy and the higher speeds was waring the tread down at an aggressive rate. So I opted for these tires, Top Contact II 700c x42. The wider profile greatly reduces the impact of bumbs and rougher roads. At this size the handling remains nimble but makes for a more comfortable ride. Having less than 50 miles on them, I am pretty happy with them. The center bead make for a smooth and efficient ride. Riding at higher speed I feel I have more confidence on the rougher roads, and the side tread patterns seem to grip pretty well. The bike rolls almost silent even on rough asphalt. Off road performance, I would say they do well for packed dirt, but would still take some caution on making aggressive turns but still they seem to grip well. Overall the bike feels a bit heavier but the extra comfort, and efficiency seems to be worth it. My ride can go up to 35mph and I am pretty sure these tires will holdup to the abuse. My ride can probably accept 47s for more cushion but I am thinking this may slow the bike down too much.I can update again after a few months. So far; great tires!” – Customer Review

“I have only had this tire for a few weeks now but I am VERY happy with my choice so far. I am by no means a tire OR bicycle expert but I consider myself to have a good eye for quality and I am impressed with the the build of this tire. I must admit that I am biased towards German and Japanese manufactured goods. My experience is that they have always been of a higher quality and more durable. The fact that this one is ‘hand made’ in Germany was the deciding factor in my purchase. I really wish that we produced more products of a higher quality in the U.S. because I would certainly prefer to spend my money domestically. I mounted this tire on a beach cruiser that is ridden almost entirely on hard surfaces. The traction feels excellent. I think the rolling resistance is slightly less, (better), than the very well performing and durable Kenda that came on the bike originally. I was most concerned about puncture resistance. “Just finished my first ride with these tires. First of all, yes the side walls feel thin but I don’t expect that will be an issue at all. I’m a heavy rider -318 pounds – and use magnesium wheels. Having said that I ran these tires at 38 psi and had no issue. These tires have great grip and are fast. I’m in Florida so single track with lots of roots, sugar sand and built up features with rocks is the typical environment. Time willtellgow long these tires last but I am very happy with my first ride and suspect I’ll be buying more of thesetiresin the future. “Good rack, not designed for bikes with Boost rear axle spacingI knew when I bought this rack that it was designed for the ‘standard’ rear axle spacing of 135mm that is used on bikes with 9mm quick-release skewers, and not the newer ‘Boost’ rear axle spacing of 148mm that is used on most modern mountain bikes that have 148mm x 12mm thru-axles. What that means in practical terms is that the cylindrical spacers provided are twice as long as necessary when the rack is used on a bike with Boost spacing. These spacers are 7/8” long and made of aluminum so they are very easy to cut if you are comfortable with that sort of thing. I simply cut one exactly in half and that made the width of the rack a perfect fit for the mounting lugs on my bike. Shortening the spacers required me to also grind down the length of the provided mounting screws to match the shorter rack+spacer dimension. You could simply go to the hardware store and buy shorter machine screws, but it was easy for me to just grind the provided screws to the length required.” – Customer Review

Recommended.Long:I bought this for a Honeywell El Capitain e-bike with 26×4 tires, the functional equivalent of a Jeep Cherokee with a 12″ lift and 35’s.This comes with standard screws (#10-24) to fit a bike, so if yours has #10-32’s like mine, you’re likely going to the hardware store. I had the ones needed on hand.You will need hex wrenches to assemble. The instructions are sufficient, and if you can read an exploded diagram, assembly is a piece of cake.Nice touches : locktite is already on critical mounting screws. “I’ve had tons of fun on this thing. I weigh around 200 lbs and it can go up hills, and rough yard areas, etc. and get me around the property. Being over 40 now, I primarily use it to run around and grab a tool from the shed and back over to whatever project im working, on, go grab the mail, etc. but some days it is just fun to go ride. I did some rough testing and I’d say you’ll get about 45 minutes (at my weight anyway) per battery charge with the two 7.5 amp hour batteries. Which I think is still great and usually about the time I need to take a break. It has pretty decent shocks on it, I like the bulky type tire because it works perfect for my rough yard (new house with yard still work in progress) and its just super easy to hop on, turn the key, push the ready button and take off. Balance is the same as riding any other bike and best of all, so is the noise level which is zero lol. I love that probably the most, I can enjoy the woods, trails, etc even more because you can talk to each other while riding easily, stop and talk without powering off, just tons of benefits to having this little bike. Have had zero issue with it since I bought it about 6-7 months ago and its easy to maintain it looks like, basically just have to dust it a bit every now and then and spray the mud off and its good to go. The extra battery compartment in the middle by the way is super nice because you can actually get that FULL 45 minutes of riding in because you can go until your main two batteries die and then throw a spare one in there to get you back to the house. “This is a one year review.I ordered this for my teenager to get him to want to do more things outside. When I was a kid I had fourwheelers. I liked the idea that this was silent, easy to recharge and Dad could ride it too.Pros:-It zips! As someone who is 6′ 4″ I can ride it and it goes fast enough on our couple acre property and neighborhood.-Dead silent. No worries about annoying neighbors.-My son can recharge batteries and no buying gas. Also, it works with my other ego yard equipment. Batteries easily get him several rides between charges. They recharge pretty quick too. Have not felt like it’s a limiting factor.-Very well built. Brakes are legit hydraulic brakes that can stop it immediately. Everything is solid on it. Zero concerns about its longevity.- It has a speed limit switch under the seat. It was great to limit the speed until my son got experienced. I made him get 200 miles under his belt before we would consider turning it off. The handlebar also had a switch for 3 speed settings too. He tends to keep it on lowest or middle. The top setting easily hits 27 mph in our flat yard.Cons:-The screen is and LED but not backlight well. Hard to see in the daylight. That said it doesn’t really matter you can still see everything just not as easy. Not a big deal.- The tires are great for gravel and grassy yards. They aren’t the best if the ground is muddy or wet grass. Easy to lose traction and slip in those conditions.
