Best For

Families wanting a safe, quiet, and powerful electric dirt bike for teens or adults under 900 dollars. Great for backyard jumps, trail rides, or neighborhood cruising.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent value at around $900
  • Simple assembly process

  • Protected chain and durable construction
Cons:
  • Battery life decreases significantly on steep inclines
  • Not suitable for heavy-duty professional use

Customer Reviews

“The media could not be loaded. Amazing little dirtbike. Quality is better than expected. Honestly can’t believe they are selling this for only $900. Was extremely simple to assemble, basically put on the forks, handlebars. Takes longer to peel off the sticker protectors then to actually assemble the bike. Brakes work fantastic, easy to adjust, and I kind of like it being a cable for easier maintenance. The control knobs to be able to set the top speed, adjust the power, and adjust the response so easily. With the three knobs that are safely tucked away inside a little box makes it just about the safest thing possible. I actually had a little Yahama pw50 for the kids, but it was so heavy, hard to start, , dangerous with the exhaust pipe- and lots of maintenance- and couldn’t limit top speed, etc.. This little bike is way better and half the price- so much better for slightly ripping around the yard. I also like how the chain is very protected so it makes Accidents very unlikely. I’ve already ordered a second one so that my kids can ride together.”

“This was my son’s birthday gift. We were so happy with the quality, speed, and size.”

Customer Reviews

“THIS IS THE WORST BUY IVE EVER MADE ON AMAZON!!! Do not buy this bike!! I put it together, filled it up with the proper fuel and the bike cranked up immediately but it has NO POWER! Under the weight of the bike itself it has no pull, it barely inches. My son weights 70 lbs and the bike won’t move with him on it. I’ve looked at the air filter, adjusted the airflow screw, adjusted the idle, adjusted the throttle cable, checked the carburetor, checked chain tension. I’ve done everything to fine tune the bike and still no power! This is a horrible buy I wouldnt recommend this bike to anyone at all!! Do not waste your time with this purchase I will never buy another from here ever again.”

“Packed nicely. Surprisingly shipping was faster than expected. As a beginner dirt bike this is perfect. It’s been a bit over a month and don’t have any issues.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Budget Electric Dirt Bikes

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating the best budget electric dirt bikes, we prioritize **motor power**, **battery life**, **build quality**, and **ease of use**. A good entry-level e-bike should offer at least 750W of power for decent acceleration, a reliable battery with 20+ mile range, and durable components that withstand rough handling. Safety certifications like UL or GCC are also crucial for peace of mind.

Budget Planning

You can find quality electric dirt bikes under $900, but be realistic about what you get. True off-road capability usually starts around $1,200+. However, models like the MotoTec 36V Pro prove you don’t need to spend thousands to enjoy trail riding. Factor in ongoing costs: charging electricity is negligible compared to gas, but consider tire replacements, brake pads, and occasional battery checks over time.

Final Thoughts

Electric dirt bikes are no longer a niche product—they’re mainstream, affordable, and increasingly powerful. Whether you’re looking for the best electric dirt bike for adults under 900 dollars or a foldable model perfect for city living, today’s market offers incredible value. Just remember: read reviews carefully, check warranty terms, and ensure the bike matches your skill level and intended use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the difference between gas and electric dirt bikes?

A: Electric dirt bikes run silently on rechargeable batteries, require minimal maintenance, and produce zero emissions. Gas models need regular oil changes, fuel mixing, and emit noise and fumes—but some prefer them for unlimited range and instant power.

Q: How far can a budget electric dirt bike go on one charge?

A: Most affordable electric dirt bikes offer 15–25 miles per charge under normal conditions. Models like the HLOIE Foldable E-Bike push this to 35 miles thanks to larger 48V batteries. Heavy loads or steep terrain will reduce range.

Q: Are electric dirt bikes legal to ride on public roads?

A: It depends on local laws. In many areas, electric bikes under 20 mph and 750W are classified as Class 1 or 2 e-bikes and legal on bike paths and roads. Always check your state and city regulations before riding publicly.

Q: Can I convert my existing dirt bike to electric?

A: Yes, conversion kits exist, but they vary widely in quality and compatibility. For beginners, buying a purpose-built electric model is safer, simpler, and often cheaper than sourcing parts separately.

Q: Which is safer—electric or gas dirt bikes for kids?

A: Electric bikes are generally safer for young riders due to lower speeds, quieter operation, and no risk of exhaust burns. They also eliminate the complexity of clutch control and fuel hazards.

Finding the best budget electric dirt bike doesn’t mean sacrificing performance or safety. From the powerful MotoTec 48V Superbike to the family-friendly 36V Pro and ultra-portable HLOIE Foldable, these four models prove you can ride hard without spending a fortune.
