Customer Review: “I bought this machine for my husband after his stroke a couple years ago. This machine has been a Godsend! It is easy to assemble and disassemble. The batteries are heavy, but they last! It has plenty of power and can go pretty much anywhere. Gravel, grass, dirt, cobblestone etc…(Stay away from snow and water) It can take some decent inclines, too! The seat swivels which comes in really handy for getting in and out. It has plenty of leg room and is quite sturdy. My husband is 5’11” and close to 300 lbs. The basket is nice to have. The hubby puts all kinds of stuff in there, even our little chihuahua. 😂 In the 2 years we have had it, there has not been one single issue. This goes wherever we go and he uses it in our house, too. I am 53 and have no problems loading and unloading it into the back of our Acadia. I take the seat out, the batteries out, fold down the steering handle, lock it, put it in neutral, then I hoist the front end to the bed, then grab the back handle and it rolls right in. I then put it back in drive to keep it from rolling, put the seat and batteries in and off we go. A great, steady machine and worth every penny!”

Customer Review: “It was on back-order so I got it a week late, but the seller kept up with me every step of the way so I knew what to expect. So far I have gone 8-9 miles on half a charge or less, another trip of about 4 miles on less than 1/4 charge, and a few more trips. Rides fairly comfortably over the rough sidewalks and other terrain in the area. Only thing I’ve found wrong so far is the 4th light (top green bar) in the charge panel flickers on and off randomly so you can’t be sure its fully charged even after 24 hours of charging. It could use a bigger front basket, but all in all quite remarkable. We will see if I am still happy with it in a couple years, but for now its great–UPDATE At a month and a half I have been about a hundred miles on this scooter and it’s great. I have added a rain coat that covers me and the scooter plus a tiller cover made by challenger plus oxygen tank holders and cell phone holder.–Second update At 3 months I’ve taken it a lot of places including on the bus. Minor problems like the front end being out of alignment, but Golden Tech is extremely prompt at fixing any issues you have. Extremely good customer service. Would change it to 6 stars if I could. At 4+ years: golden replaced the rear end 4 timed. Finally going with the heavy duty transaxle and wiring as the one it comes with kept having problems. Battery needs replacing about every 6 months to a year. I have an oxygen tank attachment on the rear that rides on the hitch under the seat. The metal plate it’s attached to has slowly bent under the 18 pounds of weight over the last 4 years. So the 1/4 inch by 6 inch plate is not as good as expected.”

Like most lightweight scooters, neither the Rascal nor the Travel Pro handle thick grass very well, so keep that in mind. I also strongly recommend choosing the 3‑wheel version. The turning radius is much better, and it’s great for navigating tight spaces. I’ve only used 3‑wheel scooters over the years and have never had stability issues.
