Customer Review: “I got this scooter for my 10-year-old son. He got it and installed by himself very quickly and enjoy the ride within a few minutes. The straightforward instructions made it easy to put together. My son likes this scooter because of its ability to glide effortlessly and quietly across concrete surfaces. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is a truly great scooter – the best pedal scooter you can buy – by far! Much safer than small wheel scooters that are VERY dangerous to use outdoors. This has pneumatic tires and can be ridden off-road on grass which means it is also great on rough sidewalks. It is also very fast. I am 165 lbs., 5 ft 10 in tall and can ride no problem, it is very sturdy. Kids also love riding it. I don’t understand the complaint about hurting ankles, these are rubber caps that come with it to out on the rear axles to protect you, then you just learn quickly how to pedal without striking the scooter. Brakes work well but must be carefully set up or won’t work. You need to read instructions and know how to adjust brakes or watch a YouTube video. There is no other scooter in the market in this class anymore. This is the kind they had when I was a child, but even better! I’m a mechanical engineer and I seriously approve of the design. If you have a bike, get one of these too for some variety of exercise and fun! Bought to keep up with my daughter when we took off her training wheels but can still help her over curbs and getting started while on my scooter. Now all the cousins want one too and will get two more for Christmas!”

Customer Review: “This was a great purchase for my son. Obviously, the manufacturer listened to all of the reviews that complained about the scooter arriving scratched or missing parts. Mine arrived packaged like it was bomb proof. It takes a few minutes to get everything unpacked and ready for assembly. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all together and adjusted. I am very mechanically inclined and have a ton of tools so for me this was nothing, but if you are not as confident you may wish to have someone else assemble it for you. Basically, you put on the handle bars, the wheels, and hook up the brakes and adjust them. The wheels take about 30 seconds each. I had one wheel that had the conventional keeper clips on it, and the other wheel came with plastic keeper bushings. The instructions did not reference this but a little studying and intuition told me that the conventional clips were to be used on the front wheel and the plastic keeper bushings fit into recesses in the rear wheel frame mounting surfaces. Remember that. Adjusting bicycle style brakes can be a real pain but these went pretty good. I suggest squeezing the calipers snug to the rim and taking up as much slack as possible with the cable pinch-bolt that is on the caliper itself first, and then using the adjuster screw at the lever for the final adjustment. My son can stop on a dime now. I am almost 300lbs and I took it for a spin around the cul-de-sac and it worked great. This should last a kid or normal sized adult a lot of years. My son is 6 and he is just big enough to use it. I wouldn’t suggest it for much younger than that. The handle bars adjust up and down about 4 inches or so. Instructions are pretty good and can talk you through most of the assembly. For the price, you cannot get a better machine on the market. Very pleased.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Best kid scooter I have seen. Assembly takes seconds! Pop the handlebars in place, adjust the height and roll! My grandson loved the vibrant green color and the size that allowed him to place both feet on the board unlike other child scooters. I am thrilled that the capacity weight will let this last him a good while so he gets to enjoy it even with the warmer months a little way out. Compact when folded and easy to use brakes for added safety. Most people thought it was an electric scooter because it looks so nice. Well worth the money! Make sure you get the Matching helmet with green visor.”

Customer Review: “Good quality and my 8yr old loves this. He had a three-wheeled scooter before this scooter and was scared to try a two-wheeled scooter. However, very shortly he was able to ride the scooter and loves it.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “We’ve had this scooter since Christmas 2025 and use it about once a week. So far, the quality seems very good. It handles rough terrain well (you can see from the photo), though like many scooters, it does get stuck on some larger bumps – even with wheels that are a bit bigger than the Razor brand. A couple of really nice features: the scooter came fully assembled, so we could use it right out of the box. It also has two riding modes. One mode lets the entire front section move left/right for sharper, more playful turning. The other mode makes it ride like a regular scooter where you have to lean in the direction you want to go. My daughter is 7yrs and 4’0” tall and had outgrown her toddler scooter, but she wasn’t ready for a two-wheeled model. After reading several reviews, I chose this one because it offers room to grow, the price was reasonable (not too high, but not so cheap that it would fall apart quickly), and the color is a nice subtle pink – not overpowering. Overall, a solid buy for a weekly rider who needs something between a tiny toddler scooter and a full-on two-wheeler.”

Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. AMAZING! My four-year-old daughter just got this scooter and she is loving it, she had one previously but she really learned with this one, the handle that is easy to turn makes her feel a lot more confident to ride freely and fast. Ease of riding: making turns is a lot easier than with any other scooter Ease of assembly: don’t even need to assemble, literally play out of the box Stability: perfect Build quality: really good quality Ease of riding: rides very smoothly and the handle is great for turning left and right Age range: perfect for 3 years all the way to adulthood ( I used to too the other day) Ease of assembly: ready to play out of the box, no assembly needed Stability: very very stable Build quality: high quality”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “As a parent, I’m always on the lookout for quality, durable toys and sports equipment for my kids, and the LaScoota Kick Scooter definitely fits the bill. After several weeks of use, I’m impressed enough to leave this review – something I don’t do often! Pros: Versatile for Various Ages: The scooter is marketed for kids aged 6+, but even teens and adults can enjoy it. This versatility makes it a great buy for families. My 9-year-old and 10-year-old both ride it comfortably. I have even used it several times. Sturdy Build: The construction is solid. It doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap, which is a relief considering how rough kids can be. The frame is robust and has endured quite a few bumps and drops already. Smooth Ride: The 8” urethane wheels make a noticeable difference. They glide smoothly on different terrains – from pavements to slightly rougher park paths. My kids have remarked on how “smooth and fast” it feels. Safety First: The braking system is reliable and easy to use, which is a huge plus in my book. I appreciate that my kids can slow down safely, especially when they’re getting a bit too adventurous. Easy to Handle: Despite its sturdiness, the scooter is not overly heavy. My younger child can handle it without much struggle, and it’s easy to carry when needed. Cons: Price Point: It is a bit on the expensive side, but I believe the quality justifies the cost. It’s an investment in a scooter that won’t need replacing any time soon. Storage Size: It’s a bit larger than some other scooters, so storing it takes a bit more space. Not a major issue, but something to consider if you’re tight on space. In conclusion, the LaScoota Kick Scooter is a fantastic choice for families looking for a reliable, fun, and safe scooter. It’s well-built, easy to ride, and should last for years to come. Highly recommended!”

Customer Review: “I’m 47 and I’ve wanted a scooter since my kids got theirs back in the early 2000s. I bought this as a gift for someone else, but even though it was listed as prime, it took over a week to come, so i had to go out and buy a different scooter for her. Since I also just celebrated a birthday, I kept this for myself when it finally arrived. I’m glad I did because my stunted childhood dreams came true! It’s been cold and rainy here but I’ve been riding this baby around my house and it’s every bit as fun as I hoped it would be. I cannot wait to get outside with it! It’s very sturdy and the second height level is perfect for my 5’3 frame. Folding it seems tricky at first, but I found a great YouTube video titled Lascoota Teen Scooter that shows how to pull up while pushing up on the red folding button. Now it’s super easy to fold and unfold. Some weird black plastic piece fell out from where it folds and I’ve emailed the company about it, but so far it doesn’t seem to affect the scooter usage. Replacement parts are readily available, and look pretty inexpensive, from the Lascoota website. Testing the brake inside at low speed, it seems really responsive. The little kickstand is awesome because at my age I’m just so above dumping my $70 scooter on its side in the grass. I’m not planning on doing any rad tricks, and I’m not into getting tiny wheels stuck in cracks, so the larger wheels on this are fabulous because they give such a smooth ride. I’m mostly looking forward to embarrassing my youngest son as I ride around the neighborhood on my super cool pink scooter. I ordered a white helmet to go with this and I’m totally gonna sticker the heck out of it to complete the bad mom effect.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Electric Scooter For Teenagers

Essential Factors We Consider

When picking the best electric scooter for teenagers, we look at a few key things. Safety is super important, so we check for reliable brakes, good build quality, and features like non-slip decks. We also think about the scooter’s performance – how fast it goes, how far the battery lasts if it’s electric, and how smooth the ride is. Durability is crucial because teens can be tough on their gear, so we prefer sturdy materials and a design that can withstand regular use. Finally, we consider ease of use, like how simple it is to fold and carry, and of course, the overall fun factor and style that appeals to teens.

Budget Planning

Scooters for teens can range quite a bit in price. Simple kick scooters are the most affordable, often costing under $100. Electric scooters for teenagers typically start around $200-$300 and can go up to $500 or more for models with higher speeds, longer ranges, and advanced features. It’s important to find a balance between your budget and the scooter’s features. Sometimes, spending a little more upfront on a quality, durable model can save you money in the long run by avoiding frequent repairs or replacements. Remember to also factor in potential costs for accessories like helmets and rain gear.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right scooter is all about matching the teen’s needs and your priorities. Whether you go for a speedy electric model or a classic kick scooter, the goal is to provide a fun, safe, and practical way for them to get around. We’ve highlighted some excellent options, but always remember to check the specific weight limits, age recommendations, and safety features before making your final decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a safe speed for a teenager’s electric scooter?

A: A generally safe top speed for most teenagers is around 15-20 mph. Always ensure they wear a helmet and ride in appropriate areas. For younger teens, slower speeds are often preferable, and many scooters have adjustable speed modes.

Q: How much should I expect to spend on a good electric scooter for a teenager?

A: You can expect to spend anywhere from $200 to $500 for a quality electric scooter that’s well-suited for teenagers. More budget-friendly kick scooters are available for under $100.

Q: Are electric scooters safe for teenagers to use for commuting to school?

A: Yes, electric scooters can be a safe and efficient way for teenagers to commute to school, provided they are used responsibly. Key safety features like good brakes, adequate lighting, and proper speed control are essential. It’s also crucial that they are aware of traffic laws and ride defensively.

Q: What kind of maintenance do electric scooters for teenagers require?

A: Basic maintenance includes regularly checking tire pressure, cleaning the scooter, ensuring brakes are functioning properly, and keeping the battery charged. For electric scooters, checking connections and ensuring no water damage is also important. Just like with bikes, proper care with things like lubricant can extend the life of moving parts.

Q: Can teenagers use electric scooters on sidewalks?

A: Regulations regarding scooter use on sidewalks vary by city and state. It’s important to check your local laws. In many places, scooters are intended for bike lanes or roads where permitted, rather than sidewalks, to ensure the safety of both riders and pedestrians.

Finding the right scooter for a teenager is about balancing fun, safety, and practicality. Whether it’s for school runs or weekend adventures, these scooters offer fantastic ways to explore their world. Remember to always prioritize safety gear, like helmets, and teach your teen responsible riding habits. Happy scooting!
